Pro Evolution 2009, Mii Training Mode Coming to Wii

Pro Evolution Soccer revolutionized sports games last year on Wii, and next year, it’s coming back for more.
Konami announced at a press event in Rome that its soccer franchise will have a Nintendo iteration in 2009, and it will come with a mysterious Mii Training mode.
The company was not ready to reveal any details.

Rumor: Wii Version of Rock Band 2 May Not Have DLC, Online Multiplayer

Update:
It’s not true. See for yourself here.
Original Story:
Remember when Harmonix assured Nintendo fans back in early August that the Wii version of Rock Band 2 wouldn’t be gimped of major features like the first Rock Band game was?
I’m not about to speak for the company officially, but according to a USA Today multiplatform review of [...]

Brain Training - proof that it does work

A really interesting story about an educational experiment has emerged on the Learning And Teaching Scotland site, which essentially proves that Brain Training’s claims about sharpening your mind are absolutely spot on.
The study saw one group of children given the DS title for ten weeks, with the children allowed to play the game for between [...]

Shaun White to hit DS this November

Not satisfied with one appearance on a Nintendo console this Christmas, wild-haired snowboarder Shaun White will be making his handheld debut in cel-shaded form, as Ubisoft moves from balance board to touchscreen on November 13th.
Shaun White’s Snowboarding will feature a host of unique features on DS, with stylus controls guiding you down the slopes, sending [...]

Wii Music gets faintly garish new boxart

Nintendo’s first-party massmarket-friendly titles like Wii Fit and Wii Sports (and even the likes of Mario Kart Wii) have had pretty minimalist, stylish boxarts. Expecting the same for Wii Music were you? Well, Nintendo has a surprise in store, with this bright, rather busy and - let’s be honest - slightly tacky looking cover art [...]

Animal Crossing gets new name in Europe, first-party release schedule revealed

It’s typical that Nintendo should wait until I’m away at a press event before deciding to announce a load of stuff.
Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City is the new title - though it’s not that new if you’ve been following recent news, because it was announced as the Australian name recently, too. It’s a [...]

Miyamoto: Music Education Should Start with Wii Music

Nintendo has already conquered your living room. Now, the heralded games maker is setting its sights on your childrens’ classrooms.
In a candid conversation about Wii Music, the company’s controversially basic new rhythm game, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto discussed the goals and design decisions behind the game.
They also talked about the possibility [...]

More Mega Man 9 DLC Gets Detailed

The Mega Man 9 DLC releasing in October doesn’t just stop at the chance to play as Proto Man, no sir — you’ll also get the chance to extend the game’s play length with a bevy of extra modes, all for about 100 to 300 Wii Points each.
Endless Attack, October 6, 300 Wii Points: “Test [...]

Tenchu 4 Officially Coming to North America

It was probably only a matter of time before we got word of Tenchu 4 making the jump overseas to the North American market, but seeing the official confirmation of it in the following teaser video from publisher Ubisoft and developer From Software is comforting all the same.
Obviously, the “Coming Soon” release window at the [...]

Media: Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009 Trailer

We knew this was going to happen. We knew Wii Fit would bring on a slew of wannabes and cash wranglers. We knew the Wii Balance Board would fall victim to cheap knockoffs and subpar gaming. We were right, by the way. My guess, this is just the beginning.
Jillian Michaels, no doubt an attractive woman, [...]
