Super Smash Bros. Brawl Smashes Sales Records
After just a little over one week in stores, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii has become the fastest-selling video game in Nintendo of America’s history. Since the March 9 Launch, the feature-packed fighting action game has sold more than 1.4 million units in the United States, saw SSBB (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) sell more than 874,000 on launch alone. It has sold at a rate of more than 120 units per minute between launch and March 20. If this selling trend continues the units sold will reach over 3 million before the end of march.

“Super Smash Bros. Brawl has made the leap from video game to cultural phenomenon,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Game reviewers and the public alike praise its fun game play and extensive, inventive content.”
Super Smash Bros. Brawl contains an almost limitless variety of options for players. Tons of classic Nintendo characters like Mario and Pikachu are joined by gaming icons like Sonic and Solid Snake for all-out four-player battles. The endless customization keeps players coming back for more. Super Smash Bros. Melee for The GameCube, became the best-selling Nintendo GameCube game of all time selling more than 7 million copies worldwide, no surprise then to see this latest installment racking up record numbers like there is no tomorrow.
Nintendo has also gone on record to say they have many more fun titles coming soon like Mario Kart Wii and Wiifit in the coming months. Good job Nintendo for making a great franchise even better.
Now work on down loadable brawlers until Super Smash Bros. Armageddon.
